To Help and Encourage
August 25, 2011
Yesterday I wrote,
And within the message, I changed to
Build It and They Will Come? Oh really!
This may work in the movies, in dreams, but in reality, online, it does not work.
Many good people build great sites, programs, and resources every day. But without large amounts of ongoing daily traffic, they have no chance for success.
This is why we are all here. We all are here because of the need for traffic.
What I wrote yesterday, may have encouraged and motivated more people than anything else I have published. Thank you for all the kind words, support and respect. There is a lot of great people out there, long time members and supporters of our work, professionals, respected colleagues and friends. Together, we are truly helping others, building successful businesses, and making this marketing arena best.
THEN
Another highlight of my day yesterday was helping and encouraging a newcomer. Like many, they eagerly joined, setup, then followed our traffic building instructions. Now, a few weeks later, 7 signups, the discouragement bug hits, and they need a little Mr Hoopla inspiration.
Here is what I told them:
I am here to help and encourage.
Getting started, traffic building, is like building a business, it is hard work, and it will take time. However, if you will do it, you will reap, and the harvest is worth it.
I can remember like yesterday, my first year of traffic building, after realizing the importance of traffic building and making it a priority. Signup numbers were up and down, activity up and down, and my results were up and down. I specifically remember during the 7th and 10th month, that I felt discouraged and thought about quitting. I am so glad that I did not quit, and after one year, working 6 to 12 hour days, I was working with 10K ongoing daily traffic. At this point, I was excited. I achieved something very special, I then continued and never looked back.
If today, I returned to zero, I would do it all over again. No question its hard work, but that it is worth it.
This is a numbers games no matter how you look it. On average, from the best exchanges, you will see one new signup for every 400 to 1000 hits. Think big picture, get into a daily routine, and build one on the other. At some point, as you discover a handful of active people, you will see your results multiply.
During the height of my traffic building success, before building Traffic Hoopla, I built downlines of several thousand. No, it was not all me. And no, it was not an army of hundreds in my downline. The reality it was maybe 30 to 50 very active people in my downline that turned my work into a huge success.
Think of your work today as a new farmer planting seeds for a harvest. I know a few things about planting and growing. As a new farmer, if I go today and plant a few seeds, then return complaining of no harvest, all the successful farmers would laugh. And if I did it again tomorrow, the next day, and a few weeks more, the response would be the same. It is simply unrealistic to achieve success overnight, or in weeks, or in months, for farming, for traffic building, or any business, online or off.
Every once in a while, a newcomer arrives with deeper pockets than the rest of us. The enter, setup up their Hoopla, upgrade, and buy a lot of signups. At some point, after a few months and 50 to 100 signups, they throw up their hands and proclaim it does not work. But as is common, the account remains, and at some point, a year or two later, the person returns to discover a massive indirect downline. This means a handful of their direct referrals became very active, and everything soon multiplied. This is all good, for everyone. But just imagine if this person never stopped, and their direct referrals were hundreds?
Hope this helps. Email anytime.
I love this business. I love hoopla! I am truly honored to have you here. You are the best!
